Hi, I’m Marc Werner, the co-founder & CEO of GhostBed. I like to say I’m a… Husband-Dad-Grandfather-Brother-Son-Friend Dog Lover-Golfer-Fisherman-tennis player-Media-Technology-Cooking-Business Man-Always A Nice Guy. I’m passionate about sleep wellness with over 20 years in the mattress industry. I write a lot about my inventions and share advice on the GhostBed sleep education portal here.
My co-founder and amazing wife Donna Werner also happens to know a thing or two about running a family business. Donna heads up the Human Resources to support our extended GhostBed family!
GhostBed is now in its 5th generation of entrepreneurs because two out of our three kids now work in the family business. Its going to take a few more years until it hits the 6th generation of Werner grandkids we have in the family. One of my inventions I named after my grandson Clay after spending over 5 years inventing the GhostBed’s weighted blanket.
It all started over a 100 years ago when my family first invented the famous Werner Ladder. Donna and I started Nature’s Sleep 20 years ago, after I had three neck surgeries and needed a solution to avoid sleeping in constant pain. GhostBed just celebrated its 7th Birthday this Halloween as our main D2C brand that offers affordable luxury sleep wellness solutions.
My hacks? Family values and delivering quality! I love what I do and it’s about passing on your legacy with this family e-commerce mattress business. America is about making dreams come true and running a family-owned mattress company is something truly special to me. It’s amazing to see my children working together to keep this business alive and thriving. I’m a father first, but an entrepreneur 2nd and it’s an honor to have generations of entrepreneurs in the family that take personal pride in craftsman ship. It’s something my grandfather taught me… focus on quality and profit will follow. You can’t hack a family, but you can mentor and treat your customers and partners like family to keep your legacy alive through entrepreneurship! There are no short cuts in life, but you can make entrepreneurial dreams come true! It starts by getting the deep sleep you need to forget about the bad days and focus on making tomorrow good day!
